Color Coding

A boy using color coding on an E-TRAN board

Color Coding
Color Coding is a way to fit more messages on the same board.
In this example, color coding allows for 36 symbols on the board, rather than 6.

The colors of the cells echo the layout and colors of the boxes.

This E-TRAN has 6 large colored boxes. Within each large box, there are 6 smaller cells. The colors and layout of the small cells are identical to the color and layout of the large boxes.

The front and back of the board are mirror images of each other.

Note: Color coding is an advanced technique. Most children will never use it.
